Unarmed Security 

POSITIONS DETAILS

  • Part Time and Temporary positions available

  • Hours may vary and include nights and weekends

  • Training and Security Certifications provided​

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma of General Education Degree (GED)

  • Minimum of 18 years of age

  • Criminal background check and drug test required

Special Event Security 

POSITIONS DETAILS 

  • Flexibility to work as little or much as you are able 

  • Festival, special events, corp events, VIP events, etc. 

  • Indoors and Outdoors

  • Various positions available  ​

  • Short events 

  • Long term event season

  • Leadersjhip and Management positions available

Armed Security – Reserve

  • Potential for full time position

  • Must have or able to acquire a CCW and a Professional Permit

  • Verified experience in law enforcement officer, military, or armed security

OUR HIRING PROCESS 

This is our standard process; however, the hiring steps may differ by role to ensure we choose candidates who will thrive at Global Protection Group.

1. Pre-Application

Candidates submit a brief pre-application through our website to help us understand the type of work they are seeking.

2. Pre-Screen Phone Interview

Qualified candidates are invited to a phone pre-screen. This conversation allows us to learn more about the candidate and share additional details about the company and role.

3. Application Process

Candidates complete a formal application, giving us deeper insight into their communication style, experience, and qualifications.

4. Final Interview

If the application advances, candidates will participate in a final interview—typically conducted by an executive leader within the business unit.

5. The Offer

Successful candidates receive a formal offer letter. Welcome aboard!

As a Security Agent with Iowa Protection Group, your primary objective is to maintain a safe and secure environment for people, property, and assets. You will serve as a proactive, approachable, and highly visible deterrent to criminal and unauthorized activity. In this role, you are often the first line of defense in emergency situations, responding quickly and professionally to protect clients, visitors, and staff.

Key Skills & Qualifications

 

To perform this role successfully, a Security Agent must be able to carry out each essential duty effectively. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position:

 

Requirements

​

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service is preferred but not required.

  • Licensing: Must obtain and maintain any state-required security guard license/registration (provided by the company).

  • Core Skills: Strong observational abilities, high integrity, sound judgment, conflict resolution skills, and effective written and verbal communication.

  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift as needed.

  • Background Check: Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

  • Drug Screening: Required as a condition of employment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with security systems, surveillance technology, and basic computer functions; ability to effectively use mobile devices and radio communications.

  • Training: Completion of all company-mandated training programs; specialized roles (e.g., armed security) require additional certification, including firearms training.

  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred or may be required. The company will provide or assist in obtaining these certifications.

 

Typical Working Conditions

 

  • Positions may be stationary (fixed-post) or patrol-based.

  • Work schedules may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Duties may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • The role may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, or monitoring environments.
