OUR HIRING PROCESS

1. Pre-Application

Qualified candidates are invited to a phone pre-screen. This conversation allows us to learn more about the candidate and share additional details about the company and role.
3. Application Process
Candidates complete a formal application, giving us deeper insight into their communication style, experience, and qualifications.
4. Final Interview
If the application advances, candidates will participate in a final interview—typically conducted by an executive leader within the business unit.
5. The Offer

As a Security Agent with Iowa Protection Group, your primary objective is to maintain a safe and secure environment for people, property, and assets. You will serve as a proactive, approachable, and highly visible deterrent to criminal and unauthorized activity. In this role, you are often the first line of defense in emergency situations, responding quickly and professionally to protect clients, visitors, and staff.
Key Skills & Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, a Security Agent must be able to carry out each essential duty effectively. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position:
Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service is preferred but not required.

Licensing: Must obtain and maintain any state-required security guard license/registration (provided by the company).

Core Skills: Strong observational abilities, high integrity, sound judgment, conflict resolution skills, and effective written and verbal communication.

Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift as needed.

Background Check: Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Drug Screening: Required as a condition of employment.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with security systems, surveillance technology, and basic computer functions; ability to effectively use mobile devices and radio communications.

Training: Completion of all company-mandated training programs; specialized roles (e.g., armed security) require additional certification, including firearms training.

Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred or may be required. The company will provide or assist in obtaining these certifications.
